The results of the Castle Park Customer Satisfaction Survey, conducted online across July and August 2023, are overwhelmingly positive, with 95% of visitors satisfied or very satisfied with their overall experience.
The survey, conducted every two years, received 501 responses. Respondents were asked about their experiences at Castle Park, including when they visited, how they got to the park, what they did while they were there, and their overall satisfaction with the multi-award-winning attraction.
The most popular activities among visitors included walking, running, and picnicking. Visitors also rated the park highly in terms of its cleanliness, safety, and accessibility.
Cllr Michelle Burrows, Colchester City Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure, Culture and Heritage, said: “I’m delighted to see such high levels of satisfaction with Castle Park. These survey results show that Castle Park is a valued asset to the community and that visitors are enjoying the park.
“They are also a positive reflection of the hard work and dedication of our Park Rangers, our gardening team, and the Friends of Castle Park, who I would like to thank for their continued support and hard work. They play a vital role in helping us to maintain and improve the park for everyone to enjoy.
“We're always looking for ways to improve the park and we'll be taking the feedback from this survey on board. We will work hard to address the areas that have been highlighted in the survey, and I’m confident that we can make Castle Park even better in the future.”
