Colchester’s popular High Woods Country Park has announced its summer events 2023.
The new programme, run by Colchester City Council, includes a series of ranger-led tours that will provide visitors with a rare opportunity to explore the wildlife of High Woods Country Park, Hilly Fields Nature Reserve, and Lexden Park's Nature Reserve.
Bat walks can also be booked in High Woods Country Park, Bourne Valley and Colchester Cemetery, where visitors can use bat detection equipment to hear the sounds of these nocturnal creatures.
Cllr Michelle Burrows, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Culture, and Heritage, said: “Last year’s events programme proved to be very popular, and I’m thrilled to see many activities returning, mixed with a few new ones. Summer events in our parks offer visitors of all ages a chance to discover the city's beautiful green spaces and to get up close with local wildlife.”
You can also explore High Woods Country Park with the council’s free Nature Trail app (available on Apple devices), download a map of the park or Wildlife Map.
