A Community Day of Action is coming to Highwoods!
The event, which takes place on Thursday, 9 March, is the seventh in a series of Community Days of Action to be held across the city.
The Highwoods Community Day of Action aims to make improvements to the local area through a range of activities including litter picking, weeding, removing graffiti, and cutting back overgrown vegetation – and residents are invited to get involved and make a difference!
Cllr Martin Goss, Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhood Services & Waste, said: “The Community Day of Action is a great opportunity for local people to feel empowered to tackle issues that matter to them and deliver noticeable improvements to their neighbourhood where they're needed most.
“I would urge groups and volunteers to get involved and help make a real difference to their community.”
The Highwoods Community Day of Action, which is led by local ward councillors with Cllr Catherine Bickersteth as the point of contact, takes place between 10am and 2pm, and everyone is welcome to participate. Please meet at the Highwoods Community Centre, at 10am. Litter picking kits will also be provided.
Colchester City Council’s neighbourhood officers will also be on hand to support the event and offer advice.
