It took just 40 minutes for tickets to sell out to see ‘A-list’ comedian and Hollywood star Jack Whitehall at Colchester’s Charter Hall this week.
Ticket holders can look forward to seeing Whitehall trying out brand new material for his ‘Warming Up’ show at the 1200-seat venue in Cowdray Avenue, Colchester on Thursday 16 March 2023. It is part of a nine-date tour of the UK and a rare opportunity to see this international stand-up test drive his new material at a local venue.
In response to the overwhelming popularity of the show, Colchester Events, in partnership with Phil McIntyre Live Ltd, has released tickets for a second, later show at the venue on the same evening.
Cllr Adam Fox, Deputy Leader & Portfolio Holder for Local Economy and Transformation, said: “It’s fantastic news that Hollywood star and comedy A-lister Jack Whitehall will be heading to Charter Hall this March. Colchester Events has been building Charter Hall’s reputation as ‘must go’ destination for international stars of comedy, with a 2023 programme that also includes Henning Wehn, Sara Pascoe, Paul Smith, Sarah Millican and Dara O Briain.
“In a year that we enjoy ‘The City of Colchester - Year of Celebration’ the Colchester Events team are ensuring residents and visitors to the city can look forward to a huge variety of outstanding music, comedy, theatre and festivals in 2023.”
Jack Whitehall, who is widely celebrated for his smash-hit show comedy tours, has starred in Travels With My Father (Netflix, 2017-21), the BBC’s adaptation of Decline & Fall (2017), Bad Education (BBC 2012-14), and A League Of Their Own (which received a BAFTA Award in 2014 for ‘Best Comedy Entertainment Program’. Jack can also be seen in Disney’s The Nutcracker And The Four Realms (2018), Amazon’s Good Omens (2019) and Clifford The Big Red Dog (2021). In late 2021, Jack starred in Disney’s blockbuster adventure, Jungle Cruise, opposite Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt.
Tickets for a second performance on Thursday, 16 March at 9.30 pm are on sale now at Jack Whitehall - Warming Up 2023 - Colchester Events (colchester-events.co.uk)
