A Community Day of Action is coming to New Town and Christ Church Ward!
The event, which takes place on Tuesday, 29 November, is the fifth in a series of Community Days of Action to be held across the borough.
The New Town and Christ Church Ward Community Day of Action aims to make improvements to the local area through a range of activities including litter picking, weeding, finishing ongoing works in the Folleys, and cutting back overgrown vegetation – and residents are invited to get involved and make a difference!
Cllr Martin Goss, Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhood Services & Waste, said: “The Community Day of Action is a great opportunity for local people to feel empowered to tackle issues that matter to them and deliver noticeable improvements to their neighbourhood where they're needed most.
“I would urge groups and volunteers to get involved and help make a real difference to their community.”
The Old Heath and The Hythe Community Day of Action, which is led by Cllr Kayleigh Rippingale, takes place between 10am and 2pm, and everyone is welcome to participate. Please meet at the Junction of Winnock Road and Military Road, at 10am. Litter picking kits will also be provided.
Cllr Kayleigh Rippingale, said: “We look forward to the Community Cay of Action on the 29th of November. This day of action builds on the exceptional effort the residents in New Town and Christ Church already display in ensuring their community is a place everyone can take pride in.”
Colchester Borough Council’s Neighbourhood Service officers will also be on hand to support the event and offer advice.
