Colchester Borough Council is keen to understand people’s feelings around public safety and has launched an online survey to ask residents their views on crime and anti-social behaviour.
The results of the Fear of Crime Survey 2022, which runs for four weeks, from 22 August to 19 September, will help inform future priorities and actions in our city-to-be.
The 28-question survey covers several crime and public safety concerns, both real and perceived. It can be completed online here.
Cllr Julie Young, Portfolio Holder for Housing and Communities, said: “Fear of Crime means different things to different people, from not feeling safe in their home or wider community, to fear of burglary or physical harm.
“Being a victim of any form of crime can be a traumatic experience, and fearing crime, even if unfounded, can also cause stress and anxiety and affect mental and physical wellbeing.
“That is why we are keen to hear your views on issues of local concern and your experience of crime and anti-social behaviour. We hope to use the results of the survey to help inform our future priorities and tackle a range of public safety issues when they arise.”
