On Saturday, 16 July Leisure World Tiptree will be throwing open its doors for people to come and try out the facilities on offer.
Between 10am and 4pm, people will be able to come along and take a tour of the state-of-the-art gym facilities, try out the iconic red climbing wall, bounce on one of the trampolines and join in a sport session with a local club on the newly refurbished 3g artificial pitch. There will also be a soft play area, bouncy castles, and ball pool – making it a real family event.
Visitors who go along and sign up on for a year’s fitness membership on the day will receive two months free membership, and there’ll be a raffle with lots of prizes up for grabs including an Aqua Springs voucher, free racket sports voucher, a chalk bag (for climbing), and more.
In addition, a community coach from British Cycling will also be on site setting up a course with a selection of bikes, running sessions that bike riders of all abilities can join. The British Cycling coach is normally based at Colchester Sports Park at Northern Gateway offering a range of GO-Ride sessions for all abilities, including children learning to ride a bike, adults wanting to gain new skills, inclusivity sessions for disabled cyclists using adaptive bikes, and school staff to lean vital British Cycling techniques essential for teaching school children.
Cllr Adam Fox, Deputy Leader of Colchester Borough Council, said: “We have fantastic sport and leisure facilities across all our Leisure World Centres and Colchester Sports Park. I’m delighted we are opening the doors at our Tiptree centre for people to come and explore what’s available. It’s a great opportunity to find out more about what is on offer.
“With activities taking place across the day for all the family we hope to see lots of people there. We have some excellent membership offers for people to take advantage of in Tiptree to support an active lifestyle for people.”
