Colchester Events is preparing for a spectacular weekend of live music in Castle Park this Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July with Westlife and Michael Ball & Alfie Boe bringing their 2022 UK Summer Tours to the historic venue.
On Saturday 2 July, Irish pop kings WESTLIFE perform their ‘Wild Dreams’ Tour. Shane, Nicky, Mark and Kian will entertain the crowds with all their greatest hits ‘Swear It Again', ‘Flying Without Wings’ and ‘World of our Own’ as well as, fresh pop anthems from their new album ‘Wild Dreams’.
Today (27 June) Westlife are delighted to announce that Louisa Johnson, who at 17 became the youngest X Factor winner in 2015, will be joining them at Castle Park.
After winning X Factor, Louisa spent 2016 working with a dream cast of writers and producers to help develop her artistry where she worked with the likes of Clean Bandit, Ali Tamposi (Justin Bieber, Beyoncé), Burns (Britney, Calvin Harris), Ed Drewett (One Direction, Little Mix), and J Kash (Maroon 5, Meghan Trainor) to name a few.
Her first release, ‘Tears’, where she featured for Clean Bandit, became an immediate success making it her first Top 5 UK hit single; with her first solo records ‘So Good’ and ‘Best Behaviour’ following ‘Tears’ all going Gold.
Westlife’s ‘Wild Dreams’ album, released in November 2021, includes song writing contributions from Ed Sheeran ("My Hero") and Amy Wadge ("Lifeline", "Rewind"), along with production from Jamie Scott, Rami Yacoub and Steve Mac.
The Band said: “After the last 18 months, this tour means more to us than any that we’ve done before. It will be a massive celebration and will bring us closer to our fans than ever before. We’re planning some spectacular shows which will include all our greatest hits and some special surprises.”
On Sunday 3 July, MICHAEL BALL AND ALFIE BOE take to the stage for their ‘Together Again This Summer’ tour. The nation’s favourite musical duo will perform everyone’s favourite numbers from Broadway showstoppers to classic pop songs.
Joining them will be one of the UK’s most in demand acts, The Overtones. Mark Franks, Darren Everest, Jay James and Mike Crawshaw create a perfect mix of originality and classic nostalgia and are best known for their exquisite vocals, pitch perfect harmonies and their charming distinctive style.
Broadway and West End sensation, Marisha Wallace is also a Special Guest for Ball and Boe. Best known for starring in Something Rotten, Dreamgirls, Waitress and taking on the role of Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray, Marisha Wallace is the woman to watch this year!
