Magical Christmas Trails at High Woods Country Park

Bring your little angels for a sparkling good time at High Woods Country Park this weekend (18 and 19 December).  
 
The whole family can enjoy two magically good Christmas themed walking trails, suitable for ages 4-8 and 7-11yrs. Explore the woods and follow the trail to solve the festive clues. 
 
Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December, 10.30am-3.30pm: 
  • Christmas Wordsearch Trail (4-8yrs)
  • 12 Days of Christmas Trail (7-11yrs) 
Grab your trail sheet from High Woods Country Park visitor centre, for just £1 (per sheet). Complete the trail for a sweet treat, why not get into the Christmas spirit and wear a Christmas jumper too!  
 
There’s no need to book, you can just turn up! Suitable for aged 4 to 11 years old and their families. Please bring your own pen or pencil to complete your trail sheet. 

You’ve also still got time to book for the Woodland Wreath Making children’s event on Tuesday 21 December, 10.30am-12.30pm, where you can make a winter wreath from natural material found around the park. Suitable for ages 4+. Children £5.50 Adults free. Booking required. 
 
Cllr Beverley Oxford, Colchester Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Communities, said: “Winter is a great time of year to visit our beautiful parks and this year is no exception. These self-guided Christmas Trails are a great way to have some family fun, whilst exploring our beautiful award-winning park.”  
 
High Woods Country Park visitor centre is open every weekend between 10am-4pm, except for Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 December when it will be closed. Please check visitor centre and car park opening times before you visit at www.colchester.gov.uk/country-park/   
 
Car park users are encouraged to make contactless parking payments using MiPermitwhich is available viaan app, online portal, text or phone call. Parking information, including opening times and fees can be found at www.colchester.gov.uk/parking  (no cash payment option available).
