Building on the success of previous years, Colchester City Council is excited to announce the return of the Cultural and Creative Events Fund for 2025. This initiative continues to support inclusive cultural events and activities across the City of Colchester, fostering creativity, community and wellbeing.
Applications are now open for micro grants ranging from £200 to £2000, available to support cultural and creative events or activities taking place between 1 May 2025 and 30 April 2026. With a total fund of £30,000, this initiative aims to back projects that meet at least three key objectives: provide high-quality cultural or creative experiences, develop or showcase local creative talent, celebrate and raise awareness of local heritage, attract visitors to the city, celebrate the diversity of Colchester’s communities and contribute to the health and wellbeing of residents by getting them involved in art and culture.
Applications must be submitted online through the Colchester City Council website at www.colchester.gov.uk/cultural-creative-events-fund by the end of Tuesday 4 February 2025. Successful applicants will be notified after 1 March 2025. Funding applications are welcomed from registered charities, constituted voluntary and community organisations and not-for-profit groups.
Cllr Natalie Sommers, Portfolio Holder for Communities, Heritage and Public Protection, said: “The Cultural and Creative Events Fund continues to advance the City’s Cultural Strategy by supporting the creative sector, nurturing local talent and celebrating Colchester’s communities. We are eager to support innovative projects that not only highlight the arts and heritage in Colchester but also contribute to the health and wellbeing of its residents, affirming a commitment to fostering a culturally rich and inclusive city for all.”
