Colchester Museums is proud to announce that it is a finalist in the Colchester Business Awards 2024, organised by Our Colchester Business Improvement District (BID). The awards celebrate outstanding local businesses in Colchester’s city centre.
Colchester Museums, comprising Colchester Castle, the Natural History Museum, and Hollytrees Museum, have been shortlisted in the “Creative, Cultural, and Community Business of the Year” category. This award recognises organisations that utilise culture and creativity to enhance life in Colchester. Being shortlisted from over 110 nominations underscores the museums' significant community impact.
Finalists were chosen through public nominations, eligibility and content assessments, and detailed case studies reviewed by a panel of judges. This category was evaluated solely by experts, ensuring a thorough and unbiased selection process.
Colchester Museums plays a key role in preserving and showcasing the city’s history and culture. Through exhibitions, educational programs, and community events, the museum enriches the lives of residents and visitors.
Cllr Natalie Sommers, Portfolio Holder for Communities, Heritage and Public Protection, said: “Being named a finalist in the Colchester Business Awards is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at Colchester Museums. Winners will be announced at the Colchester Business Awards event at Firstsite on Wednesday, 5 June.
