The Colchester Community Safety Partnership (CSP) welcomes its newest partner, Changing Lives Community Services (CLCS). CLCS is a Colchester based organisation that offers social, sporting and work experiences to children and young people, providing them a clear pathway to a positive future.
CLCS helps the younger generation 'right' and 'wrong', what is criminal activity and not, to stop them getting involved in gang activity. The role-models in the organisation achieve this through many different methods, all activity based, such as:
- Half term holiday camps with plenty of activities
- School clubs (Breakfast Club, Lunch Club and After-School Club)
- CLCS Gym membership
- Chess Club, Cooking Club and Craft Club
These activities instil confidence, motivation and encourage teamwork and a sense of community in the young people that join them. Since 2018, CLCS has delivered 1,345 workshops, supplied around 4,000 activity sessions, and supported nearly 11,000 young people, and we’re thrilled to have them as a partner and continue growing these stats. “This has been yet another exceptionally busy year for the CSP, with all of our various partner organisations relentlessly working to tackle a wide range of issues affecting community safety concerns. We have established our new priorities for 2024/25, launched a new website, and look forward to delivering many initiatives designed to prevent crime, and support people who are affected as a result of incidents."
The Colchester Community Safety Partnership continues to work hard to bring together community members, statutory services, the voluntary and community sector, and charities to work collaboratively in identifying and tackling community safety issues locally. Initiatives are delivered to reduce crime, disorder, and antisocial behaviour within our communities effectively.
