This February half term, Colchester Museums invites families and individuals of all ages to embark on a captivating journey through time and imagination. From a fun Romans Heroes & Villains trail and games for the younger family members at Colchester Castle to a mystical adult evening of Sensual Sorcery and a brand new paranormal themed evening there's an array of experiences designed to delight and entertain.

Immerse yourself in the world of ancient Rome with an engaging trail and games suitable for the whole family.
Colchester Castle Family Sleepover – Knightzzz at the Museum, 17 February
Create lasting memories with your loved ones during a magical family sleepover at Colchester Castle. Explore the exhibits after hours, participate in fun activities, and enjoy a sleepover filled with excitement and wonder.
Colchester Castle – Explore the Unexplained, 23 February
For those seeking a spine-tingling experience, join us for a paranormal evening. Explore the unexplained after dark and discover stories that linger in the shadows (Note: Suitable for ages 16+).
Colchester Castle – Sensual Sorcery for Adults, 15 February
Unleash your inner enchantment during an evening of sensual sorcery designed exclusively for adults. We’ll be heading back in time to discover more about love and relationships and how they have changed throughout history (Note: Suitable for ages 18+).
Colchester Castle – Family Tours, 17-23 February
Join us for a special family tour of the Castle. Travel back over 2000 years on a trip into the hidden spaces of Colchester Castle. Climb the great stairs and enjoy spectacular views from the roof whilst soaking up tales of victory, defeat and the hard-fought battles that have made Colchester the city it is today.
Natural History Museum – Animal Antics Sessions for Pre-Schoolers, 21 February
Get ready for some animal-themed fun and games crafted specially for under 5’s. We’ve got stories, songs, and games lined up, and we’re ready to entertain our younger guests this half term.
Natural History Museum - Curious Creatures Mobile Zoo, 19 & 20 February
Live animal meet and greet! Head down to the Natural History Museum and meet the fluffy and scaly! Discover, learn, and interact with some curious live animals with our special mobile zoo visitors!
