Colchester partners join together to support Dementia Action Week

Dementia Action Week is a national campaign organised by Alzheimer’s Society UK running from 16 – 22 May 2022. 

There are a range of activities that have been organised locally by Colchester Dementia Alliance and its members, One Colchester Group, Colchester Borough Council, Community 360 and Age Well East. 
 

Whether you are living with or caring for a person with dementia, or simply want to learn more, there are a range of activities and information sessions though the week. Spaces are limited on some activities, so advance booking is recommended. 
Lucie Breadman, Colchester Borough Council Assistant Director for Communities said: “We recognise the life changing impact that dementia has on families and wider communities. Dementia Awareness Week shines a light on this. The activities and events organised by partners gives an outlet for those affected to access advice and guidance. I would encourage anyone impacted to reach out to the support available.” 
Activities running across the week include a Dementia Tea Dance, walking football and an information drop in event.
