Colchester Borough Council’s Click and Collect service, which gives residents the opportunity to pick up replacement recycling containers at a time that suits them, has been expanded to include more local stockists.
Four new stockists have now been added to the Click and Collect scheme, taking the total number of stockists up to eight. The four new pick-up locations are: Myland Community Council, West Bergholt Parish Council, East Donyland Parish Council and Wivenhoe Town Council. The council will look to offer more pick-up locations over the coming months.
Residents can order replacement recycling containers:
- Green Box for cans or glass (must be separated)
- Food Caddy (kerbside and kitchen) for food waste
- Clear Bags for paper/cardboard or plastics (must be separated)
- Garden Sacks for those with a sack garden waste collection
This Click and Collect service is a sustainable process, working in partnership with local community organisations and businesses across the borough. Delivery will remain an option for any residents not in an area covered by a pick-up location, those residents with an assisted collection, or those requiring a wheelie bin.
Councillor Simon Crow, Colchester Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Environment and Sustainability, said: “I’m really pleased at the continued positive feedback from residents who have used our Click and Collect service for recycling containers. We now have eight stockists across the borough, offering a choice of opening hours so residents can choose any pick-up location and time that suits their needs, including weekdays and weekends.
“We will continue to work with partners across the borough to add more pick up locations to this service, making it easier for residents to order and pick up recycling containers at a time that suits them.”
